Why DailyPokey TalkyPerson want know all these things from people anyway? Is fun asking questions nobody knows right answer to?”
(Pox is one of the characters from my game/book/hybrid thingy. She is also a fairy, and like all of her kind, fairly annoying. Fortunately she’s on the good guy team, though that means having to listen to her.)
“Pox want to try asking questions too. Wait that not question. How Pox play question game? Oh oh oh, that counts yesyes? Oo, Pox playing verymuch good now. No, wait, is Pox playing verymuch good now? This hard asking questions no see questionpeople thinkmuch scratchy head. Isn’t it? Phew, Pox saved it at end there, didn’t Pox?”
“What DailyPokey TalkyPerson ask again, anyway? Oh now they’re gone. That happens Pox lotslots. Sometimes is frustrating, people say they want to play but then Pox say Pox wants play too and Playpeople go away too much Pox not find. Is not good game hideseek when Playpeople only hide not ever seek. Is not fair turns, Pox think. That happened once to Pox, you know? Maybe Softhair Prettything tell? Nastybad Bounceworm probably not tell, Nastybad Bounceword only talk Pox to say shshshsh, or maybe talk Pox other friends and ask them say shshshshsh.”
(If you haven’t figured it out by now, Pox doesn’t have a grasp on proper nouns. Well, she does, but she never actually uses one’s own proper nouns. Instead she makes up her own and sticks to them, religiously. Except her own; she can always remember her own name. Just not how to use pronouns.)
“Sometimes Pox feel sadhurt about shshshsh; is nice when people want LISTEN to Pox and say things back too? Is too quiet sometimes, tallpeople get all headthink nospeak and then you get many tallpeople getting headthink nospeak together, and then none of them are any fun at all. Is much better talking because Pox no good brainthinkread. Pox not think tallpeople any good at brainthinkread, either; they just pretend they can and nodnod but Pox not really believe they know what other tallpeople really think inside. That why is always best talkspeak, that way no misunderstand.”
“Anyway Pox bored talkspeak DailyPokey TalkyPerson when DailyPokey TalkyPerson no talky only pokey and then no listeny. That very rude, Pox think, ask question not stay LISTEN answer. Pox hope somebody niceperson hear Pox, maybe talk too yesyes?”
Pox is a joy to write as, she’s the hyperkinetic toddler of her oddball group, but isn’t actually as stupid as she sounds. If you like listening to characters, maybe you could, I dunno, read some more!
