Yesterday I posted some of Flonk‘s moveset where he screws with bosses, at the risk of pissing off said boss monster. I was playing with some AI art generally to work on the move cards, and then it struck me: “Why not have goblins playing pranks?”

AI is apparently very good at goblins. I mean, it stands to reason; they’re freakish green toddlers with weird eyes and strange body proportions, AI makes freakish toddlers with weird eyes and strange body proportions even when you ask it not to. So, why not unleash its raw power and say, “Hey, Stable Diffusion? Make me pictures of goblins doing annoying crap.”

And lo, the Lord saw it was goblins.

So what are these goblins doing that’s bad? I mean, look at their smiles, they are up to some shit. Maybe they’re stealing important parts, or drinking the boss’ coffee first thing in the morning. Maybe they’re playing a ill timed drum solo, or serving a replacement coffee.. with ex-lax in it. Maybe they’re unplugging something important.

There’s just something beautiful about telling an artist, “I want horrible monster children acting horribly” and it says “Print: You’re the boss.”

I may stick with this. Not making Flonk a goblin, that would be weird, but goblins do speak to me as a source material for causing trouble.
